Funeral prayers offered for slain PIMS hospital doctor

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Funeral prayers of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences’ (PIMS) Senior Cardiologist Dr Shahid Nawaz was offered in Islamabad today (Saturday) whereas the dead body has been sent to Chaklala for burial, Dunya News reported.
According to sources, the funeral prayers were attended by senior leader of PML-N Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, police officials, doctors, hospital staff and a large number of citizens.
Dr. Shahid Nawaz has left behind a wife, two sons and four daughters.
Meanwhile, important revelations have been made by the initial reports of Dr Shahid Nawaz murder.
According to sources, only one bullet was fired at him whereas the suspect was a highly skilled sniper.
Moreover, CCTV cameras installed in the hospital were also allegedly disfigured before the attack.
Earlier, he was shot in the head by unidentified gunmen on February 14 just when he was coming out of the hospital after performing a surgery.
He was rushed to CMH Hospital in Rawalpindi where he succumbed to injuries after battling for life for six days.
Dr Shahid was expert cardiologist and was among the senior most surgeons in the country.
