APC called by ANP called for construction of Pakistan-China corridor on war-footings

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – All Parties Conference (APC) called by Awami National Party (ANP) on Tuesday has rejected the alternate route for Pakistan-China Economic Corridor, Dunya News reported. APC also called for construction of the Pak-China Economic Corridor on war-footings on the proposed route and warned that serious action will be taken in case it was not acted upon.

According to the details, the APC expressed concerns over the alternate route being rumored these days. The declaration issued by the APC said that the Pak-China economic corridor can prove to be a game-changer in the region. It said that the construction of the mega project will also be able to compensate for the damage that terrorism has inflicted over the region and therefore, the planning commission should start the construction of the economic corridor on war-footings.

Earlier, addressing the conference, ANP leader Asfand Yar Wali criticized the planning commission’s policy saying that the commission was being illogical by proposing the alternate route. “Can Motorway Lillah Interchange be shifted to Dera Ismail Khan”, he asked.

Opposition leader Syed Khurshid Shah said that the government was getting stuck into ‘political prejudices’. He said that the change in the route will threaten the federation.

Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that all the federating units should be given an ownership of this mega project.

Mir Hasil Bijinju said that this project was also being made controversial like the Kala Bagh Dam.

Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) leader Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said that the investment attracted by this project should be spent on the terror-hit areas.

APC warned of action in case of any alteration in the route and voice will be raised on all platforms including parliament.
