Karachi: Lawyers observe black day in wake of 21st Amendment
The establishment of military courts is a violation of Supreme Court's (SC) orders, say lawyers
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The lawyers on Thursday observed a black day in wake of the 21st Constitutional Amendment following the appeal made by the Pakistan Bar Council. The lawyers have announced to observe a black day every Thursday.
The lawyers put on black armbands to voice their disagreement with the 21st Constitutional Amendment. Farroq Azam Khan said that establishment of military courts is not a solution to this problem. Khan is a 1965 war veteran. The lawyers were of the opinion that establishment of military courts is a violation of Supreme Court’s (SC) orders.
They said that they would not accept this Amendment and the SC would give a decisive judgment on the matter.
