Pakistan and Bahrain agree to promote cooperation in defence sector

Both countries have reached a mutual agreement to improve cooperation

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday 7th January 2015 went to Bahrain for a two day official visit. Both countries have signed agreements relating to joint cooperation in the fields of education, business and defence.


According to details, both countries have reached a mutual agreement to improve cooperation and to assist each other in the fields of education, cooperating in the establishment of small and middle level businesses and promoting art and culture between the two countries. An agreement to forego visa requirement for people possessing diplomatic and special passports was also signed. An agreement relating to joint cooperation between Bahrain University and Quaid-e-Azam University was signed as well.


Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met with the Prime Minister of Bahrain Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. He thanked the Bahrainian government for sending their condolences for terrorist attack in Peshawar and said he was eager for cooperation between the two governments to further improve economic and political ties.
