The meeting decided to establish army courts for the trials of terrorists

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government and the Pakistan Army on Friday have decided to bring amendment in the Army Act according to which the civilians involved in attacks on the Pakistan Army or its installations could also be sentenced by Court Martial.

This was decided in the in a high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister (PM) in the General Headquarters (GHQ).

Furthermore, the meeting brainstormed over a strategy to counter terrorism.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar were also present at the meeting.

The meeting decided to establish army courts for the trials of terrorists.

The army courts would also consider proofs that the current law does not declare admissible.
