Karachi SITE factory: Fire intensifies due to cotton bales
Cotton bales are making it difficult to get the fire under control, says fire brigade team
KARACHI (Dunya News) – A textile factory in the SITE area on Friday caught fire burning thread and cotton worth lacs of rupees.
The rescue teams have been trying to put out the fire for as many as five hours but they have not succeeded so far.
According to the police, the fire originated in the generator room due to a short circuit.
The residents of the area and workers of the factory tried to extinguish the fire by themselves but later around 15 vehicles of the Fire Brigade reached the scene and a snorkel was called.
A fireman blacked out due to the intensity of the fire upon which he was shifted to a hospital.
The cotton bales in the factory caught fire after the fire brigade team had put the fire out and was carrying out cooling process.
According to the fire brigade team, cotton bales are making it difficult for the team to get the fire under control.
