Federal, Punjab govts condemn attack on Dunya TV DSNG
PM Spokesperson says media's independence will be ensured, Punjab govt assures arrest of culprits
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal and Punjab’s provincial governments have condemned the cracker attack on Dunya TV’s DSNG. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s spokesperson Dr. Musaddiq Malik has said that the government will ensure media’s independence. He said that nothing will be allowed to threaten media’s independence and such attempts will not be tolerated.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif contacted Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and directed him to catch the culprits behind attack on Dunya TV as soon as possible. CM Punjab said that Dunya TV always raised its voice for truth and such cowardly attempts will not be able to curtail its freedom.
Punjab government spokesperson Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri said that people behind this attack will certainly be brought to the book.
Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan strongly condemned the attack on Dunya TV’s DSNG. He demanded the government to provide security to the media workers.
Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said that attack on Dunya TV’s DSNG was a planned conspiracy.
Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi demanded immediate inquiry of the attack.
Jamaat Islami (JI) head Maulana Sirajul Haq declared the cracker attack condemnable.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari, Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Shah, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee, CM Baluchistan Abdul Malik Baloch, Home Minister Baluchistan Sarfaraz Bugti and senior minister of Baluchistan Sanaullah Zehri condemned the attack on Dunya TV’s DSNG.
