He ordered to register a case against a SDO from Patoki on bribery accusations

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Tuesday held an open court at Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Officers Club and suspended as many as three Sub Divisional Officers (SDOs), one Executive Engineer (XEn) and two other employees.

Sher Ali was welcomed on his arrival at the venue.

As soon as he entered, the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Union members started raising slogans against the proposed privatization of the electricity supply companies.

Workers of the Hydro Electric Union also joined the sloganeering by the WAPDA union members.

After hearing the complaints of the people, Ali gave directives to suspend one XEn, three SDOs, one Line Superintendent and one Metre Reader.

He also ordered to register a case against one SDO from Patoki on bribery accusations.

Ali said that no excuse would be tolerated in delay of solving the problems of the customers.

He further said that three companies are auditing the complaints regarding the increased speed of the metres and that the report would be presented in the coming cabinet meeting.
