KHAIRPUR (Dunya News) – At least 25 people including women and children were injured when a bus toppled on Thatheri Bypass in Khairpur city, 450km north of Karachi, the capital of southern Sindh province.

The bus carrying wedding guests was travelling from Jaffarabad to Moro. The injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital where five of them are reportedly in critical condition.

According to initial report, the bus driver lost control due to sudden tyre burst.

Separately, at least ten people were injured when a Kandiaro-bound passenger van toppled in the same area.

Earlier on Nov 11, at least 56 people, including 18 children, were killed when a passenger bus collided head-on with a goods truck in Khairpur city.

Pakistan has an appalling record of fatal traffic accidents due to poor roads, badly-maintained vehicles and reckless driving.

In April, a bus smashed into a tractor-trailer in a high speed collision in Sindh, killing 42 people, while in March a horrific crash between two buses and a petrol tanker left 35 dead, with many burned alive when the fuel ignited.
