Sargodha: Another infant died, toll reaches 14 in 4 days

CM Punjab has ordered to provide additional machinery and 20 incubators to the hospital.

SARGODHA (Dunya News) – Another infant on Saturday died due to lack of incubators in District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Sargodha mounting the death toll to 14.

According to details, 14 newborns have died in four days due to lack of necessary facilities in the Teaching Hospital of the district whereas relatives of the infants alleged hospital administration for negligence and claimed that insufficient number of incubators in the hospital led to the deaths.

DHQ hospital had five incubators and admitted children were 60 but on the orders of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, 20 more incubators along with additional machiney are likely to be arranged.

On the other hand, District Teaching Hospital of Sargodha has nursery for children but there is no women ward.

Moreover, 151 newborns have died in the past year due to these issues in the district.
