30th anniversary of Faiz Ahmad Faiz observed
Faiz's ideology is not evident from his poetry only but his life as well
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – 30th anniversary of renowned poet and journalist Faiz Ahmad Faiz is being observed today (Thursday). Known throughout the world for his progressive poetry, Faiz Ahmad Faiz was nominated four times for the Nobel Prize for Literature. He died on November 20, 2014, at the age of 84.
Faiz’s poetry is connected with every issue of our daily life. His poetry about the feelings and emotions of the common people and his love for humanity reflect in his poetry also. In fact love of humanity can be considered the primary objective of his poetry.
Not only was Faiz a brilliant poet, he was an equally great person as well. On one side, he raised his voice for the people and their well-being through his poetry while on the other, he worked in other fields as well for achieving the ideas that he preached.
