Chief PAT demanded CM Punjab's resignation and to bring commissions report to light.

LONDON (Dunya News) – Talking to the media on Wednesday before leaving for Pakistan, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri said Model Town tragedy was orchestrated by Punjab government refuting the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

He said chief minister Punjab must resign and commission’s report must be brought to light adding that they would not be a part of murderer’s JIT.
“Why is Punjab government not revealing Justice Ali Baqar Najfi’s report?” Qadri questioned.

Tahir ul Qadri is expected to land in Lahore at 6:50 pm.

On the other hand, addressing a press conference at the CM House, Home Minister Shuja Khanzada stated that arrest warrant against Tahirul Qadri has been issued and he has been declared ‘absconder’ as well. It is now responsibility of Islamabad administration to take action.

Punjab government will give ‘free hand’ to Dr Tahirul Qadri when he returns to Pakistan on November 20, he added.

The Home Minister stated that no one will be barred from visiting Islamabad on November 30.
Punjab government spokesperson Zaeem Qadri said JIT formulated for Model Town tragedy comprises of impartial individuals; objection on JIT is therefore unreasonable.

Canada-based cleric Dr Tahirul Qadri, opposition politician Imran Khan and several leaders face arrest over the September 1 attack on state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) building in Islamabad that briefly forced the broadcaster off the air.

Qadri and Khan’s parties have been waging months of protests calling for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down over allegedly rigging the 2013 elections that brought him to power. Sharif has refused to step down and protesters have been camped out around the country’s parliament for weeks.

Tahirul Qadri has left the country, though Khan, a famous former cricket player, is still in Pakistan and addressing his supporters.
