Shahbaz Sharif ordered to form a committee to submit a rape case report within 72 hours.

MULTAN (Dunya News) – Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday visited the rape victim and her family in Multan, Dunya News reported.

CM Shahbaz Sharif visited the 14 year old rape victim and her family in Alamgiri town of Multan. The parents of the victim narrated the alarming rape incident to Shabaz Sharif.

He was told that the rape victim named Shaheena Bibi was raped by her neighbour Nadeem and his cronies. Though an FIR has been registered in the police station, the police are not arresting the accused culprits due to political pressure, they added.

The CM assured the family that the culprits will be caught and punished. Also, the city police officer of Multan received a severe reprimand for his negligence regarding the rape issue.

He also ordered to form a committee to probe into the incident and to submit a case report within 72 hours. Shahbaz Sharif also announced to provide free education to the sister of the rape victim.

Yesterday, protesters gathered outside press club and chanted slogans against Muzaffarabad Police Station.

During the protest women tried to set themselves on fire but the attempt was halted in time by the Cantt police.

The relatives of the victim demanded Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the incident so the justice could soon be served.
