Zardari meets Sindh CM, discuss expected flood situation

Directs the CM Sindh that PDMA and concerned department must be kept on high alert.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan People Party (PPP) co-chariman and former president Asif Ali Zardari called on Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Sunday.
According to sources, both the leaders discuss expected flood situation in the province and decided to cancel the leaves of Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) staff, District Co-ordination Officers and concerned departments’ officials.
Zardari said that no negligence would be tolerated in case of flood in the province. He also directed the provincial ministers to visit ravines and dams in their localities to keep vigil on flood situation.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had declared rain emergency across the province to meet out any eventuality of heavy rains and flood-like situation.
The chief minister directed the PDMA, all the commissioners and deputy commissioners jointly to prepare rain emergency contingency plan for each district.
