Army takes control of PTV building, transmission restored
The PTV transmission was restored within half an hour.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan army has taken the control of PTV building and restored the transmission.
Hundreds of protesters had entered the PTV building and forced the management to shut down the transmission of PTV News and PTV World.
The angry demonstrators also ransacked the office and held staff members hostage. Following the incident, the Rangers came in and vacated the building. The transmission was restored within half an hour.
Following the shut down, the Interior Minister also directed law enforcement agencies to immediately restore the transmission of PTV. Chaudhry Nisar said strict action should be taken against those trying to take law into their own hands.
Meanwhile, PTI chief Imran Khan appealed to protesters not to enter any state building.
PAT chief Dr Qadri also said that the protesters should protest outside the building but refrain from entering the building.
