We won't let democracy derail: Zardari

KARACHI (Dunya News/Web Desk) – Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) top leadership has decided that ‎they will not let any conspiracy theory derail democracy at any cost.‎


PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari led the session, and ‎ministers from Sindh, Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and other state ministers attended the ‎conference.‎


The session focused upon the current political crisis caused by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and ‎Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) ‘dharnas’ and the demands put forward by them. The meeting also ‎discussed the possibility of reaching a political solution to the current political crisis.‎


On this occasion, Zardari stressed that the solution lies in democracy and state cannot curtail the crisis ‎through using overt force. He added that the government and other political parties should resolve ‎the problem through dialogue, as democracy is not to be derailed in any circumstances.‎


PPP chair stressed that PPP will not accept any unconstitutional means against the government, adding ‎that they will safeguard the constitution and democracy at all costs. He also said that the dialogue ‎process should be taken seriously and if it is not taken seriously now then it will damage Pakistan in the ‎future.
