Nation celebrates 68th Independence Day
Nation is celebrating the 68th Independence Day with zeal, enthusiasm.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the progress and prosperity of the country. Independence Day celebrations began with a 31-gun salute in the Federal Capital and 21-gun salute in all the four provincial capitals.
A change of the guard ceremony at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Pakistan’s founder, in Karachi would also take place.
A number of events have been chalked out to celebrate the Independence Day in a befitting manner and pay homage to those, who laid down their lives to create an independent motherland for the coming generations.
People from various walks of life have decorated their houses with national flags and the buildings, city shopping centres, bazaars and all the main roads are also being adorned with flags and fancy lights.
