Famous British journalist Mariam Ridley has reached Karachi to attend the Dr Aafia Siddquis Pride of Performance award ceremony, Dunya News reported today. Talking to media at Karachi Airport, Mariam, who was the first one to report about Dr Aafias detention in Afghanistan, deplored that the Pakistan government has not played effective role to get Dr Aafias release. She also noted that the US court gave prejudiced verdict in Dr Aafias case. The award ceremony would be held tomorrow under the aegis of Free Aafia Campaign. Dr Aafia Pride of Performance Award would be conferred upon Ridley, nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and all those NGOs, human rights activists and media representatives who have been making efforts to get Dr Aafia released. Earlier, on her arrival, Ridley was accorded warm welcome t Karachi airport.
