ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will visit the Police Line Headquarters tonight, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

According to sources, the minister will issue special directives to police regarding security ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s long march.

An important meeting took place at the office of Interior Ministry to review security of the federal capital.

On the occasion, Chaudhry Nisar has directed the local administrations to maintain cooperation in twin cities and special arrangements should be made to protect lives and property of the masses.

Twenty one thousand security personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order but strict monitoring is needed at the entry and exit points of Islamabad, he said.

Chaudhry Nisar said the government respects any political activity within the Constitutional limit, however, violent mob will not be allowed to attack the federal capital.

He said that if violent protestors were allowed once, such activities will become a routine in the future. Entrance of irrelevant persons will also be banned in the Red Zone from August 14.

PML-N government has been scrambling to deal with the double challenge posed by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahir-ul-Qadri and opposition politician Imran Khan, who will hold joint anti-government rally towards Islamabad on August 14.

Authorities have placed hundreds of shipping containers to block roads leading into Islamabad, and thousands of security personnel are deployed at key locations, including the parliament building and prime minister’s office.
