Moon not sighted, first Ramazan on Monday

Central committee met in Karachi with zonal committees reporting from their respective venues.

KARACHI (Dunya News) Pakistan will begin the month of Ramazan on Monday as the moon was not sighted on Saturday, Dunya News reported.
The central Ruet-e-Hilal Committees met on Saturday for Ramazan moon sighting. The meeting was presided over by the committee’s chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.
The session of the central Ruet-E-Hilal Committee took place in Karachi with zonal committees reporting from their respective venues.
Pakistan Meteorological Department had predicted slight chance of moon sighting.
Meanwhile, Muslims in several countries across the world including Australia and Middle Eastern countries welcomed the sacred month with Taraweeh prayers on Saturday evening.
