Seven welders electrocuted in Muzaffargarh
CM Punjab's upcoming visit forced them to complete the task on emergency basis.
MUZAFFARGARH (Dunya News) – At least seven labourers were electrocuted on Saturday following an accident that took place while welding a gas pipe, Dunya News reported.
According to details, a gas pipeline was being deployed at Turkish Colony built by the Turkish people for flood-affected refugees. At least seven welders died on the spot as a result of electric shock during the welding assignment.
Rescue officials transferred the dead bodies to the DHQ Hospital. The deceased are identified as Adnan, Javed, Ali, Liaquat, Yasin, Shahzad and Arshad. All seven labourers belong to Okara.
Sources said that the labourers were completing the assignment on emergency basis as Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was due to visit the sight on June 21. Reportedly, labourers did not have the safety devices on them.
