53,814 Hajj applicants declared successful

The first Hajj flight would leave for Saudi Arabia from August, 27 (first Ziaqad).

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News / Web Desk) - Around 53,814 applicants have been declared successful for Hajj this year.

Addressing a news conference here on Friday afternoon, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said in all 127, 586 Pakistanis applied for Hajj under the government scheme. He said those who deposited their applications by 10.00 a.m. on April 21 have been declared successful.

The minister said intending pilgrims should deposit their machine readable passports through their banks by June 10.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said the successful applicants can check their names on the Ministry s website hajjinfo.org while letters will also be sent to them on their given addresses.

He said the applicants who could not be selected can collect their money from the concerned banks. The minister said the first Hajj flight would leave for Saudi Arabia from August, 27 (first Ziaqad).

To a question, he said the applications bearing signatures of two bank officers and the applicant with proper time has been considered on first come first serve basis.

Giving details of applications received from various districts the minster said, as many as 486 applicants of AJK have been declared successful from out of 1,373 applied.

A total of 9,045 applications were received from Balochistan out of which 3,102 have been declared successful.

Likewise, 1,135 applicants of FATA have been declared successful from out of 2,963.

Similarly, 558 applicants of Gilgit-Baltistan have been declared successful out of 1,792.

A total of 28,934 applied from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and 11,021 have been declared successful.

As many as 55,953 applicants applied from Punjab, out of which 24,613 have been declared successful.

A total of 11,214 applicants of Sindh have been declared successful from out of a total of 24,827 applied for Hajj.
