Lawyers on strike against Geo
Lawyers observed strike on the call of Punjab Bar Council.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Geo reporters were ousted from the court premises from the Lahore sessions Court.
Lawyers observed strike throughout Punjab against the blasphemous programme aired by Geo TV.
The lawyers observed strike at Aiwam-e-Adle, Sessions Court, Cantt Court and Model Town Courts. At the Sessions Court, the lawyers ousted the Geo DSNG, reporter and cameraman from the premises of the Sessions Court. The lawyers said they would not let the Geo staff cover events after the decision of Punjab Bar Council against the channel.
In Multan, the District Bar and High Court Bar lawyers also staged a protest and went strike. In Faisalabad, the work was suspended at 37 courts owing to the strike. In Gujranwala, the lawyers also took out a rally and protested against the Geo.
The strike was also observed in Renala Khurd, Sheikhupura, Vihari, Haroonabad, Mozaffargarh district, Pakpatan, Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Okara, Mandi Bahuddin, Mian Channu, Shujabadand Tandlianwala.
