Acting DG Passport says Altaf did not apply for passport

MQM chief claims he has submitted application and have also receipt of the application.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Acting DG Passport said that MQM chief Altaf Hussain had not filed the application for his passport.
On the other hand, Altaf Hussain said that the acting DG’s statement had disappointed him. He said that he went to Pakistani mission in London to apply for his passport and that NADRA staff got his finger prints and photograph.
“I was given a receipt, which token number is 3 and tracking ID is: 503601007637,” he said.
MQM Senator Tahir Mashadi said the government had not responded even a month after Mr Hussain filed the application for his passport and ID card.
He said officials of National Database and Regulatory Authority (NADRA) lied in the Senate’s Standing Committee about not receiving Altaf Hussain’s application.
Mashadi said that Altaf Hussain submitted his fees in London on April 4 and he was also issued NADRA tracking number. He said NADRA officials lied in the Senate’s Standing Committee about not receiving Altaf Hussain’s application.
The Senator warned of closing down Karachi for a year if the government didn’t issue the passport and ID card.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Raza Rabbani said that no one would be allowed violate Constitution.
Senator Mushahidullah of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said what led Altaf Hussain to get Pakistani passport this time as he why never thought about it after he left the country in 1992.
