Abid Sher Ali orders to disconnect power supply to President Secretariat, other defaulters
Electricity will only be given to the consumers paying their bills, the minister said.
(Web Desk) - Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Tuesday said orders of disconnection have been issued to several defaulters including NADRA, CDA, Parliament Lodges and President Secretariat, Dunya News reported.
Talking to the media in Islamabad today (Tuesday) after visiting IESCO headquarters, the minister said that an across the board campaign has been started against the power theft and defaulters.
He said the prime minister has given the Ministry of Water and power the time of one month to recover the receivables and check the power pilferage.
Abid Sher Ali said that electricity will only be given to the consumers paying their bills.
The Minister of State said an effective policy is being evolved to reduce duration of loadshedding.
He said that areas reported for major line losses will face increased power cuts.
He also said that chief executives will be removed if they failed to tackle power theft and did not make recoveries at the earliest.
