Recover missing persons by tomorrow, SC orders KP, federal govts
Shuffling papers is no progress, court is practically resorting to begging: Justice Jawad Khawaja
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court has given a deadline until tomorrow (Wednesday) to the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government to recover missing persons. Justice Jawad S Khawaja said in his remarks that show-cause notices will be issued to Prime Minister and Chief Minister Khyper Pakhtunkhwa if missing persons are not recovered on the given deadline, Dunya News reported.
A three-member bench of Supreme Court heard the missing persons case on Tuesday and was presided by Justice Jawad S Khawaja. Attorney General said that commission has been commanded to recover missing persons as soon as possible.
Justice Khawaja further said in his remarks that shuffling papers is no progress adding that the court is practically resorting to begging. He said that thirty four hearings of the case have been conducted and no one cares, adding that chief executives of the province and federation should be asked why are court orders being ignored.
Court adjourned the hearing while issuing a deadline until 9:30 AM tomorrow (Wednesday).
Supreme Court of Pakistan has been hearing case pertaining to missing persons allegedly abducted by intelligence agencies and law enforcement since fall last year.
