LHC stays young doctors sacking

The young doctors were being forced to sign an affidavit barring marriage to a foreigner.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Justice Khalid Mehmood Khan of Lahore High Court was informed during the proceedings of a case that Punjab government wanted the doctors to sign bond barring them from marrying a foreigner and taking leave for three years.
They were also to be barred from applying for transfer to some other station.
The Health Department has the right to sack them during the first three years of service.
It was prayed before the court that signing of such a affidavit was against the law and those refusing to sign were about to be fired.
The learned court has stayed the sacking of 250 doctors and directed the Punjab Government and the Health Department to submit written reply in this regard.
