We accept Quran and Hadith as our constitution, the TTP spokesman said.

MIRANSHAH (Web Desk) – Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is willing to continue dialogue process with the government, TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said on Friday.

Addressing a press conference, the Taliban spokesman said that government wants them to accept the Constitution through talks.

We accept only Quran and Hadith as our constitution, he added.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari responded to Shahidullah Shahid s remarks.

"Shahid ullah shahid said theres nothing islamic in PKs constitution. He clearly can t read. The truth is there is noting Islamic in the #TTP," Bilawal said in a twitter post.

For the last three weeks intermediaries for both the government and the Pakistani Taliban have been engaged in a preliminary dialogue they hope will lead to peace talks.

However, the discussions have stalled with both sides accusing each other of bad faith over ongoing attacks.

On the other hand, member of Taliban dialogue committee Professor Ibrahim said that peace could prevail if Pak Army and Taliban hold direct talks.

Questioning government’s authority, Taliban committee member said the public representatives had no authority.

He said the Taliban committee members remained in contact with the government, though, no formal session was held.
