MANDI BAHAUDDIN: (Dunya News) – An aircraft belonging to Pakistan Air Force has crashed into fields of Phalia, killing two officers. The preliminary cause of the crash is anticipated to be mid-air eruption of fire.
The aircraft took off from Sargodha on a routine flight and onboard were two officers from the Air Force. Shortly after the takeoff, over the Farrukhpur Bhattian area of Phalia, fire erupted from the engine causing the whole plane to explode mid-air. The debris of the aircraft scattered on to an area of around 20 acres. Both the officers are martyred as a result.
Following the reports, Rescue 1122 Assistant Commissioner Phalia Zamir Hussain, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Phalia Laal Muhammad Khokhar, rushed to the site along with heavy contingents.
The final cause of the crash will be released after a thorough investigation but initial reports suggest the crash was a result of the fire erupted in the engine and was intense enough to reportedly cause the mid-air explosion.
