No policy change likely with new COAS: Hamid Gul

Lahore (Dunya News) - Ex-ISI chief Hamid Gul said there will be no change in the military-civilian relations with the appointment of the new army chief.

He expressed these views in Dunya @ 8 with Malick on Wednesday. 

General Kayani has laid a good foundation during his tenure and the new militaryleadership will toe this line, he added.

Another participant in the programme General (rtd) Moeenuddin Haider said that personalities do make difference. The biggest challenge for the new military leadership will be security and help maintain democracy.

Former Air vice marshal Shezad Chaudhry said the new COAS would have to take decision regarding war or dialogue with Taliban.

Noted Analyst Ahmed Rashid said a change was taking place in the region which should be taken into consideration while taking decision.

Civil-military leadership will have to give new dimension to the foreign policy.
