Khawaja Asif gets additional charge of defence ministry
Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has been given additional charge of ministry of law and justice.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday assigned additional charge of Ministry of Defense to Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
Meanwhile, additional charge of Ministry of Law and justice has been given to Federal Information Minster Pervaiz Rashid.
It is worth mentioning here that the Supreme Court on Tuesday had ordered the ministry of defence to produce 35 missing persons till November 28.
Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, in his remarks ordered the defence minster to appear before the court in person if the ministry fails to produce the missing persons.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif himself was holding the defence portfolio.
If the government fails to produce 35 missing persons till November 28, Khawaja Asif would appear before the Supreme Court as Defence Minister.
