Summoning of the Defence Minister justified: ex-CJP
Justice (R) Wajihuddin said the court was forced to summon the Defence Minister.
Lahore (Dunya News) In Dunya TV’s programme Top Story, former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saeed-us-Zaman Sidiqui opined that apex court was forced to summon the Defence Minister.
Missing persons are in custody for years which is unlawful according to the Article 10 of The Constitution, he added.
The Defence Minister must inform the court as to why those persons are not being released. It is yet to be seen what the minister would say in the court, he added while saying the courts order was in consonance with the Constitution.
He further said there are certain pre-conditions for establishment of division benches. This matter should be solved through legal method, he advised.
The persons being ordered to be produced in the court have been identified and they should be produced in the court, said PTI leader justice rtd Wajihuddin.
While addressing the issue of lawyers protest, he said matter should be taken care of in accordance with the law.
The court should show restraint, opined noted lawyer Ehsan Bhone while discussing the issue of court order for DM to appear in the court.
Amir of Jamaatud Dawa Hafiz Saeed said in the programme the Kashmir issue should be solved at every cost.
