The Supreme Court on Tuesday has issued its detailed verdict in the petitions against the legitimacy of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), reported Dunya News. A 17-member larger bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry had unanimously declared the NRO void ab initio, because it contradicts the constitution of Pakistan and interests of the country. The Supreme Court on Tuesday has issued the 287-page detailed verdict, written by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. The method to re-open the closed case has also been told in the verdict. The verdict has also referenced the cases of Philippines and Nigeria where the looted money by the ex-rulers of the countries was brought back from abroad by their predecessors.
