Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party and President Asif Ali Zardari formally launched the PPP membership drive in a special party meeting at Governor House on Saturday night to transfer the philosophy of PPP and its leaders to the third generation. The Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari signed the membership form number two, while the form number one was allocated for signing of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is the chairman of party. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani also signed the membership form number three. President and the Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari while speaking on the occasion said the PPP is a philosophy and the sacrifices rendered by its leaders and workers for the cause of democracy cannot be matched by any other party. He said the dictators have been trying to eliminate the PPP for the last 40 years, but remained unsuccessful, adding, the PPP has been victorious and will Insha Allah continue to achieve successes. The President said the PPP is known by its Shaheed leaders around the world, adding, the whole world recognizes the name of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.Whenever we visit abroad, the foreign leaders recognize the country as Benazirs Pakistan and know the PPP as a party of Shaheed Zilfikar Ali Bhutto and of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, he remarked. President Zardari said he alongwith Prime Minister Gilani and other party leaders will collectively take the mission of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto forward for the welfare and well-being of masses. Speaking on terrorism, the President said the PPP has the resolve and conviction to eliminate the menace of terrorism and militancy from the country with the support of masses. The wars are always fought by people and not by governments, and the people will emerge victorious in this war, he stressed.
