ISLAMABAD (Dunya NewS) – Supreme Court of Pakistan today (Friday) expressed resentment over delay in cantonment board elections.

The apex court had set a deadline of September 15 for the conduct of local bodies polls across the country.

During case proceedings, the Chief Justice remarked that polls in cantonment boards were not held during last 14 years.

Additional Defence Secretary told court that the Prime Minister has to give approval regarding formation of the board whereas response is awaited from GHW for committee’s finalization.

On this, the CJP remarked that it should be made clear if the government is reluctant to hold polls. The law will take its own way.
