Taliban deny reports that Fazlullah was killed in an Afghan Taliban attacked his group in Kunar.

KUNAR (Web Desk) - At least three Pakistani Taliban commanders including Maulvi Fazlullah alias Mullah Radio were killed in a clash by Afghan Taliban.

According to British news channel BBC, Afghan Taliban armed with heavy weapons attacked the hideouts of Pakistani militants in Ghaziabad area of Kunar province in Afghanistan and killed three key commanders, including Maulvi Fazlullah while several others were injured.

The other commanders killed in the attack are also said to be from Swat area of Pakistan.

However, Pakistani Taliban have rejected these reports.

The Taliban sources confirmed that the rival militant groups clashed but none of the Taliban commander or militant from Swat was killed in the clash.

The Taliban sources strongly rejected the reports that Maulvi Fazlullah was killed or wounded in the clash.

Earlier, some newspapers published from Peshawar had also reported that Maulvi Fazlullah had been killed, and this is for the second time that killing of Swat Taliban commander has been reported.

It is worth mentioning here that a video was released a few days ago by Swat Taliban that claimed the responsibility of attack on in Upper Dir in which Major Genera Sanaullah Khan Niazi and two other army officials were killed.

Maulvi Fazlullh could be seen in the video celebrating the killings of top military officers of Pakistan.

The attack was carried out a few days after the All Parties Conference (APC) held in Islamabad on September 9 in which all the political parties of Pakistan approved peace talks with Taliban.

This attack had severely affected the process of peace talks and strengthened the reports that some militant organizations did not want to see successful talks between the government and Taliban.

Taliban had been flushed out from Swat valley after a successful operation launched by Pakistan Army in 2009 and Mualvi Fazlullah fled to Afghanistan along with his fellows.
