ISPR denies prisoners swap with Taliban
ISPR has rejected the reports of foreign media regarding exchange of prisoners with Taliban.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) –ISPR on Wednesday stated that there was no truth in reports of foreign media regarding exchange of prisoners with Taliban as goodwill gesture for paving the way for talks with the militants.
Earlier, the foreign media had claimed that the government had released six TTP activists accused of different crimes, while the Taliban also released two FC officials who had been kidnapped from Balochistan on March 12, 2012.
It was also reported that the released TTP activists belonging to South Waziristan, included Ismail, Sohail, Ayaz, Aya Khan, Pirzada and Farmanullah had reached South Waziristan where they were received by the TTP leaders.
