Ogra case: Tauqir Sadiq's remand extended by 3 days

The court ordered to present Tauqir Sadiq again on October 13.

(Web Desk) - An accountability court in Islamabad granted three-day extension in physical remand of Tauqir Sadiq in Ogra corruption case today (Tuesday).

Accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir heard the Ogra corruption case.

During case proceeding, NAB prosecutor Barisster Saeed-ur-Rehman told court that recovery 54.85 billion rupees have been recovered so far. 

One hundred thousand dirham were transfered to Tauqir Sadiq s bank account in Dubai, he said, adding that evidence is being gathered regarding money transfers. 

NAB prosecutor further said that some important witnesses from gas companies have also recorded their statements. 

He requested to the court to extend Sadiq s physical remand by ten days.

Later, the court approved three-day extension in Tauqir Sadiq s physical remand and ordered to present him in before court on October 13. 

Sadiq is accused of receiving the $850m  when he was head of Pakistan s oil and gas regulatory authority (Ogra) between 2009 and 2011, at around the same time when Raja Pervez Ashraf was water and power minister.
