OGRA scam: NAB to investigate two MPAs

NAB has decided to investigate two former MPAs of Khyber Pakhtunkhaw in OGRA scam.

 

ISLAMABAD (Online) - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to investigate two former members of provincial assembly (MPAs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhaw in renowned OGRA scam.

 

The decision was taken after the statement of former chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Tauqeer Sadiq in which he confessed that MPAs Zahir Shah and Khaliq Dad had helped him to flee from the country via Afghanistan in June 2012.

 

Tauqeer Sadiq told NAB that he had gained visa of Dubai from Lahore after paying 10,000 rupees.

 

After the statement of former Chairman OGRA, the NAB started efforts to contact with Afghan consulate in Peshawar through foreign office in order to verify Sadiq’s statement.

 

On the other hand, Deputy Chairman NAB announced to award shield to the investigation officers of OGRA scam namely Waqas Khan and Shumail Aziz to pay tribute to the services rendered by them in probing this mega scandal case.
