Khalid Maqbool says no false propaganda can distance workers from Altaf Hussain.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Addressing a press conference in Karachi, MQM Deputy Convener Khalid Maqbool said that a British TV channel aired a report about MQM on July 10 and misquoted some speeches of Altaf Hussain.

He said that MQM condemns negative propaganda against the party and its chief Altaf Hussain.

Khalid Maqbool said that his party appeals to the director of British TV channel to present the stance of elected members of MQM.

He said that MQM is a peaceful democratic political party that believes in the right of freedom of expression.

Siddiqui appealed to the party workers and the masses to raise their voice at different forums in a democratic way and do not adopt harsh attitude during any debate or discussion.

He said that MQM’s workers and leaders have complete confidence in the leadership of Altaf Hussain and any negative propaganda can never distance them from him.

It is worth mentioning here that Jeremy Paxman at BBC’s program New Night had spotlighted allegations of Imran Farooq murder and money laundering against MQM chief Altaf Hussain in a 19-mintue documentary on July 10.

BBC in its report claimed that 0.4 million pounds were found by London police in raids at the office of MQM and Altaf Hussain’s residence on December 06, 2012 and June 18, 2013.

Meanwhile, MQM’s leader Dr Farooq Sattar talking to BBC Two admitted that the London police had seized some amount of money during the raids, however, he added that he was not aware of the exact figure.

Sattar said that MQM was not involved in money laundering. He alleged that the BBC’s documentary on Altaf Hussain was influenced by pro-Taliban elements.

Dr Farooq Sattar further stated that no threatening statements were issued from London to trigger violence in Pakistan.
