Police fail to arrest gangsters in Rojhan

Police launched grand operation against the gang but could not succeed.

 

ROJHAN (Dunya News) - Punjab police on Wednesday failed to arrest members of Chhotu gang who managed to escape along with abducted police officials in Rojhan.

 

On Sunday, the gangsters kidnapped nine police officials from two posts in the Kachi Jamal locality after a rocket attack on one of the posts.

 

Dera Ghazi Khan Regional Police Officer Akhtar Umer reported that police exercised restraint for the protection of the hostages.

 

"The hostages are being held in the islands of the Indus River and police found it difficult to reach those islands without bloodshed,” he said..

 

Gang leader Ghulam Rasool, alias Chhotu, talked to the media persons on phone and put up his demands to the government: release his three men from jail; order police to leave the riverside area, and remove pickets from the Kacha Jamal area.
