FBR issues list of items exempted from GST

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chairman FBR has issued directions to all tax offices to strictly monitor that no Sales Tax is collected on exempted essential items and take proper action under the law against violators.
On the instructions of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar‚ the FBR has also identified these items for the benefit of the general public.
The items that continue to enjoy exemption from Sales Tax include vegetables‚ meat‚ milk‚ eggs‚ red chilies‚ fish‚ drugs‚ pulses‚ fruits‚ poultry‚ ginger‚ turmeric‚ cereals and products of milling industry‚ ice‚ poultry feed‚ butter‚ yogurt‚ salt‚ potato‚ onions‚ bread‚ nan‚ and rusk.
