Javed Hashmi withdraws statement on Nawaz Sharif
Hashmi has withdrawn his statement, in which he declared Nawaz Sharif as his leader.
MULTAN (Dunya News) - PTI President Javed Hashmi retracted his controversial statement, in which he described PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif as his leader.
"Respecting my people's objection I take my statement back", said he addressing a press conference here. Hashmi said he was eating his words for he just could not displease his constituents.
On June 5, speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, Hashmi said: “Nawaz Sharif was my leader in the past and he is my leader today.”
The remarks stirred a debate on social media, drawing anger from PTI supporters. Some media reports suggested that Imran Khan was also not happy over Hashmi’s remarks.
