Dr Abdul Malik takes oath as Balochistan CM

Balochistan Assembly unanimously elected Dr Abdul Malik Baloch as Chief Minister.

 

QUETTA Dr. (Dunya News) - Dr Abdul Malik took oath of his office at Governor House on Sunday.


Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi administered the oath to the newly elected CM.


All fifty five members present in the House‚ who met the Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali in the chair‚ voted for Dr Abdul Maalik. No other candidate had filed nomination papers for the slot.


Dr. Abdul Malik was a joint candidate of PML-N‚ National Party and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party. JUI-F also supported Dr. Abdul Malik.

 

Earlier‚ addressing the House Dr. Abdul Malik vowed to take all possible steps to restore peace in the province and put the province on the path of progress and prosperity.

 

The CM invited all the armed organizations in the province to come to negotiation table to settle down the issue of Balochistan. He said we all will have to jointly work to restore peace in the province. He said the tribal conflicts will also be resolved through talks.

 

Dr Malik said that missing persons‚ target killing sectarianism and kidnapping for ransom are the major issues of the province and would be resolved with the cooperation of federal government and Pak Army.
