The National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) will expire tomorrow after which all the cases dropped under it will re-open, reported Dunya News. Supreme Court of Pakistan in its decision of July 31 had instructed the government to get Musharraf regimes ordinances validated by the parliament. Musharraf had passed 37 ordinances including NRO. The court asked the government to get these ordinances validated in 120 days or they would expire. The government didnt present NRO in the parliament after the opposition and allied parties strongly opposed it. The time frame set by the court will expire on November 28 (tomorrow). The cases against NRO beneficiaries will re-open. Federal Minister for Law Afzal Sindhu has already issued a list of NRO beneficiaries. President has indemnity under the constitution and no new case can be registered against him neither the old NRO cases against him can reopen.
