Interim PM given briefing on economy
Interim Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso was given a comprehensive briefing on country's economy.
ISLAMABAD (Agencies): Interim Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso was briefed in Islamabad on Tuesday about the current economic situation including‚ balance of trade‚ budgetary position and the role of remittances on the economy.
Interim Prime Minister was apprised of the challenges being faced by the economy.
Mir Hazar Khan Khoso said that Pakistan is an agricultural country and we should focus on this sector which has substantial potential to lift the overall economy of the country.
He also directed the Ministry of Finance to streamline the banking system which will help in checking Hundi and increasing remittances from the country.
The briefing was given by Secretary Finance Abdul Khaliq and was attended by senior officials of Prime Minister s Secretariat and Ministry of Finance.
