Commission claims to trace out 19 missing persons

Commission on enforced disappearances stated that 19 more missing persons were traced out in Feb.

 

ISLAMABAD, March 13(Online): During the month of Feb 2013, Commission on enforced disappearances, after holding proceedings at Lahore and Islamabad was able to trace out another 19 missing persons.

 

According to the commission, Names /Percentage of these missing persons are Muhammad Ibrahim S/O Muhammad Hanif, Barkat Ullah S/o Syed Fazal Mansoor, Syed Hazrat Ullah S/O Syed Fazal Hameed, Muhammad Ikram S/O Muhammad Ameen, Gulfam Haider Syed ,Mazhar Iqbal S/O Sher Muhammad (Proclaimed offender), Farooq Shafique s/O Muhammad Shafique ,Mian Azhar Hussain S/O Muhammad Sadiq ,Qari Abdul Rehman S/o Hafiz Jamshed Ahmed, Umar Hayat S/O Umer Zada, Kaleem Ullah S/O Rana Muhammad Ayub, Muhammad Azam S/o Haji Rehmat khan, Hafiz Syed Tayyab Jilani S/O Syed Munawar Hussain Jilani ,GIdeen S/O Baaz Muhammad (confined in Central jail Dera Ismail Khan) , Muhammad Nawaz S/o Khuda Bakhsh (dead Body recovered) , Nisar Khan s/O Aurangziab Khan ,Hamadullah S/o Muhammad Ilyas Abuzar Ghaffari S/O Qari Muhammad Ismail and Shaukat ali S/o ali Rehman (Dead body recovered).

 

The commission of inquiry on Enforced disappearances comprising former senior judge of Supreme Court, Justice Javed Iqbal and Sharif Virk member is conducting proceedings of the cases of Enforced disappearances regularly with the assistance of Law enforcing agencies for tracing out the Missing persons.

 

Proceedings of the commission are being held at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Quetta periodically. On Ist January, 2011 138 cases of missing persons were pending. During the period of Ist January 2011 to 28th Feb 2013 ,861 new cases were received in the commission enhancing the total numbers to that of 999 out of which 378 cases have been disposed of and current balance of the cases under investigation is 621.
