Hajj scam: Court rejects bail plea of Rao Shakeel
The court had earlier reserved the verdict after counsel for the accused completed his argument.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court has rejected the bail plea of ex-Director General Hajj Rao Shakeel on Friday.
During the course of proceedings, the counsel for Rao Shakeel told the court his client was imprisoned for the last two years despite the fact that he had not caused delay in trial. He prayed to the court that his client be released on bail as former religious affairs minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi got bail on the same ground.
Federal Investigation Agency prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar told the court that trial could not be concluded due to delaying tactics by the accused.
