Ban imposed on pillion riding in Karachi

Sindh government has banned pillion riding in Karachi from today (Tuesday).
KARACHI: The Sindh government Monday decided to ban pillion riding in Karachi from today (Tuesday). Women, journalists, children and elder persons were exempted from the ban.
According to sources, the decision was taken by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, who also keeps the portfolio of Home Department, in consultation with Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad.
He also decided to crack down on militant and extremist groups from tonight.
The ban comes after twin blasts killed 48 people and left over 15 wounded at Abbas Town in Karachi on Sunday.
According to Additional Interior Chief Secretary, Waseem Ahmad, permission of carrying arms has also been cancelled.
