Contempt case: SC to resume hearing against Bokhari

The SC will resume hearing of contempt case against NAB Chairman Fasih Bokhai today.

 

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will resume hearing of contempt case against National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chief Fasih Bokhai today.

 

During previous hearing, the court gave him time for filing an answer and his request of exemption from attendance the proceeding of the apex court was also rejected.

 

Meanwhile a division bench headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja will will resume hearing of OGRA corruption case.
During the previous hearing, Supreme Court had ordered that Tauqeer Sadiq, former chairman of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), be deported back to Pakistan before his detention in Dubai expires on February 14.

 

The order further states that if the process to deport Sadiq is not completed by February 14, steps should be taken to extend the detention period up to 30 days.
